So Spain are World champions, but then we knew they were class so that is hardly news. What I didnt know was that Iniesta falls over as if its an Olympic sport while Villa likes to punch players in the face. It is a real shame to em that such a classy side feel the need to 'cheat' but then this was the World Cup where cheating seemed par for the course.

What else do we now know, well in reality Torres probably wont be joining Chelsea for 30 million, 50 million, 100 million or any other price tag that the newspapers would like to attach. Crocked, AGAIN, in the final minutes of a World Cup in which he was frankly both unfit and awful, Torres should perhaps now go home to Liverpool and be grateful he has a contract at all.

OK, that may be a little over the top, but lets face it, this is a guy who spends half the season injured, so maybe 50 million from Chelsea coming in and then 34 million for the Bosnian guy going out would actually constitute good business?

Germany, complete with their cheating goalkeeper (there is that word again) won bronze, OK, thats not really news either but I needed an excuse to have at least the slightest little dig at the goalie and match officials for Englands 2nd round match. To me the rubbish I have heard about this game is just untrue but heck we lost... AGAIN, I will get over it and move on.

We know Liverpools fixtures fort he coming season and why, I have to ask, is it that the Reds always have a tough start while the other big guns get to play newly promoted sides. Could the fixtures list have been more cruel to Hodgson, I doubt it. Its actually hard to see him getting a single point from the first three games, sacked before the end of September? Stranger thinsg have happened... Uruguay getting to the World Cup Semis for example. Glad Forlan got player of the season, are you watching Mr. Man United?

The first thing Hodgson has to do is get us out of the Europa Cup. At this stage in Liverpools history it is a complete waste of time. We don't need to prove anything to anyone in Europe. Play the kids for a bit of experience if we progress with them then so be it.
As for torres, give us 50m and he can say goodbye and thanks for the memories. Let someone else have his troublesome hamstrings. 30 games in a 50 plus fixture calender is no good to anyone. And it usually takes at least 3 or 4 games to get back up to speed.
Mascherano can go to inter if that is what he wants but let us remember that only a few months ago Rafa put a price on 30m on his head so lets see how he values him now.

I gather Mascha is priced at 25 million and from what I hear is going. If it is true that it was a condition of Hodgson joining that he be given all funds from sales for making new purchases then I say let Torres go, 75 million would bring in 3 world class players.

Personally I was very pleased to see Joe Cole signed, I know there is speculation for his motivation but frankly I dont care, I really believe he will respond to getting a game every week and maye even outshine the likes of Gerrard.

I sort of agree with you about the Euro cup but having read that Hodgson is now considering going back on his promise to rest Gerrard for the first match I think it is unlikely to happen.
